  1. Simile: उपमालंकार 
    1. Ex: The Great khali as strong as Ox
    2. After examination, student felt as light as feather
    3. He fought like loin
  2. Metaphor रुपालंकार
    1. My teacher is an angel
    2. He is Lion
    3. Camel is the ship of the desert
  3. Personification  - मानवीकरण - When an animal,object,bird is seen in human terms
    1. Sun smiled and chased the clouds
    2. The fire swallowed the entire forest
  4. Alliteration - अनुप्रासालंकार - having first same vowel sound
    1. My dear Deer is dear
    2. Little laxman likes  litchi
  5. Assonance - Swar Samya Alankar- Repeat same vowel sound but start with different consonant sound
    1. How is your cow now?
    2. Bear is hear but no need to fear
  6. Pun -shalesh alankar - A joke using words
    1. Ex: Pilots have easy access to Cloud storage
  7. Antithesis - ప్రతివాదం -  విరుద్ధత - opposite ideas put together in a sentence to achieve contrasting affect
    1. Ex: This is one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind
    2. It better to reign in hell than serve in heaven
    3. it was the best of times, it was the worst of the times
    4. it was the age of wisdom, it was age of foolishness
    5. It was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair(నిరాశ)
    6. It was epoch(శకము) of belief, it was epoch of incredulity(అపనమ్మక)
  8. Chiasmus - words are repeated in a reverse order
    1. One must eat  to live not live to eat
    2. Never let a fool kiss you or a kiss fool  you
  9. Paradox - विरोधाभास - something that seems self-contradictory or unbelievable, but may be  true or may not be
    1. An example of paradox is going to war to bring about peace.
    2. An example of paradox is loving someone so much, you push them away.
    3. Change is only constant in life
    4. The child is the father of the man
    5. India - A Land of Paradoxes - "Whatever you can rightly say about India, the opposite is also true"
  10. Irony - వ్యంగ్యము , వ్యతిరేఖము - A situation that is strange because the things happen in a way that seems to be opposite if what you expected

      1. Ex:Minister of Law and Justice gets arrested over a fake law degree
      2. Women and Child development officer is sacked(తొలగించబడిన) for secretly filming a women in  an objectionable way.
  11. Rhetorical Qn - it is Question posed to provoke Thought rather than to generate an answer
    1. Does Money grow on trees?
  12. Hyperbole  -  अतिशयोक्ति अलंकार - more than required , exaggeration
    1. Ex: I am tired, I could sleep for an year
    2. I would mountains for her
    3. I have told thousand times about this
    4. I dealing with a million issues today
    5. I have not met you for ages
  13. Understatement - to say that something is smaller,less important than it really is
    1. Ex: My manager understated my efforts in the call
    2. Having your leg broke is somewhat painful
  14. Litotes - कटाक्ष - వ్యంగ్యం అలంకర్ - Negative expression with an affirmative sentence
    1. Ex: He is not starving
    2. He is not Ambani
  15. Anaphora- Repetition of words at the start of the phrases
    1.  Martin Luther king Jr. Speech - "I have a dream"
    2. What lies behind us and What lies before us are tiny matters when compared to what lies within us.
  16. Epistrophe - Repetition of words at the end of the phrases
    1. Ex: Democracy is rule by the people, of the people,for the people
  17. Climax - series of idea in ascending order of importance
    1. Ex: Life, Liberty and pursuit of happiness
    2. He came, fought and conquered
  18. Anti Climax - series of idea in descending order of importance
    1.  Ex: He lost his family, his car, his cell phone.
    2. He has seen ravages of war, catastrophes of nature,he has been to singles of bars
